Michelle's Scalloped Oysters

Reheats well

Quantity Ingredients Preparation Notes
1 C Butter (2 sticks)
  •   Grease 2 qt. casserole.
  •   Melt butter in large skillet.
  •   Add flour and make a roux.
  •   Cook until golden brown.
  •   Add garlic, onions, pepper and seasonings.
  •   Cook until tender, about 5-6 minutes.
  •   Add oysters with liquid, lemon.
  •   Stir well.
  •   Cook about 2 minutes.
  •   Pour into casserole.
  •   Sprinkle with cracker or bread crumbs.
  •   Bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes (or   more).
3/4 C Flour
1 1/2 tsp Paprika
1 1/2 tsp Salt (depending on how salty the oysters are.)
1/2 tsp Pepper
Dash Cayenne
1 Clove Minced Garlic
1 Medium Onion, Chopped
1/2 Medium Green Pepper
1 qt Oysters with most of the liquid
1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
2 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
1/2 C Cracker or Bread Crumbs
